Dr. S. Michael Fuhrman is Board Certified Family Practice Physician with over 25 years experience in many fields of medicine; from emergency medicine to the treatment of drug addiction, hair loss and Botox. Dr. Fuhrman received his degree from the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1981, and completed his residency at General Hospital in New Jersey, where he interned in surgery, emergency pediatrics, ENT, cardiology and pulmonary (just to name a few!). After many years of looking for his niche, Dr. Fuhrman finally found home in Delmar, opening his own private practice in 1998. First Care has offered Urgent Care services as well as Primary Care services to the community since its doors opened, aiding numerous ailments, such as diabetes, hypertension and joint pain. Dr. Fuhrman is married with four children, two step-children, and two adorable grandchildren. He is devoted to his family, his religion and the Delmar community.
Roberta Fuhrman graduated from the University of Hartford in 1984 with a degree in Marketing from the Barney Business School. She enjoys getting to know our patients and assisting them in any way she can. Roberta has been Office Manager since 2005. She lives in Delmar with her husband and has two grown children, four step-children, and two adorable grandchildren.
Haim Ben-Eliezer is a graduate of Industrial Management and Computer Science. He graduated from the Israeli Army after 25 years of service as a Lt. Colonel and came to the United States in 1991. At First Care, he is our Business Manager and keeps the business running efficiently. He is also our personal “handyman.” He says, “he enjoys being at First Care and likes working as a team with all the staff to give the best medical care.” On the weekends, you can find Haim spending time with his wife and their 4 children and 9 grandchildren!
Virginia “Ginny” Cerami, CPC our Reception & Billing Manager, has been with First Care since 2010. She is a Certified Medical Coder,which she achieved at Bryant & Stratton College in 2010, and a member of AAPC (American Academy of Professional Coders) since 2009. Ginny has always been interested in the medical field. She started her medical career as a Medical Assistant in 1976 in Queens, where she graduated in the top of her class from the New York School of Medical & Dental Assistants. She and her husband share five children and seven grandchildren.
Akea Edmonds joined the First Care nursing staff in 2012, after having graduated from Mildred Elley’s LPN program in 2011. She started as one of the nurses, though within just a few short years, Akea has worked her way up as our current Nurse Manager. Her day consists of making sure her nursing staff is in order, patients are being taken care of to the best of her ability, as well as managing our drug and alcohol addiction programs. Akea is also a certified Breath Alcohol Technician. Her compassion and friendly demeanor is seen and felt by her patients, as well as her coworkers. Outside of work, Akea can be found playing with her dog and family!
Kimberly Hausman, MA has been with the First Care family since February 2014. Kim originally found First Care, as she was doing her Medical Assistant internship here. Eager to find a job, she stayed with us, working as a receptionist and per diem MA. Before she knew it, a full time MA position opened up, and she was ready to start working full time with our patients. In addition to working, she is currently pursuing a degree at Hudson Valley Community College in biological sciences, as she wants to further her career in the medical field. Her compassion for patients and her eagerness to learn new things are shown everyday through her work.
Mariah Bueb joined the First Care team in August 2014 as a medical receptionist. She graduated high school with a pre-license in Cosmetology, but was more intrigued with the medical field. She is currently studying Psychology and Sociology at Excelsior College. Mariah is always warm and welcoming when checking patients in at our front desk. When Mariah is not at work, she can be found playing with her 3 little kittens!
Samantha Kibler has been working as a medical receptionist at First Care since December 2014. She attended the University of Central Florida where she studied Public Administration and Criminal Justice. Sam has had over 10 years of experience in customer service and enjoys working with people, so after relocating to the Albany area in 2013, she was happy to have found the First Care family. She always strives to be friendly and efficient while helping patients. When Sam is not at work, she is enjoying life with her husband, baby daughter, and an assortment of pets!
